Morning Coffee

August 19th, 2009

142_0877This morning I took my coffee out into the garden. The dew still clung to the leaves and a squirrel, the same squirrel that explores the garden every morning was watching me from a secluded place behind the ivy. I was remembering how Mama would explore her garden every morning, taking her coffee out for a visit. I think her plants expected her and they responded in their own way. We always said she had a green thumb? Was it the friendly visit or as she wandered there, she saw the need to clip, to feed or water? Today I took my coffee out and found a kind of peace but also saw results of my own neglect.  Later today, with  my little digital camera I recorded some blooms before they disappear. It’s August, late August and I managed a picture of the Naked Ladies. They’ll be gone by the end of the month.
