Numbers to Remember

November 16th, 2013

My zip code  is 95060
my area code is 831.
The number of my new cell phone
is written on a card.
9 and 6 add up to 15
as do 8 and 7.

I always need to look up
the last four digits
of my Social Security number
but I don’t need to share them here.

A trillion is more than a billion
the National Debt is way up there
but it keeps increasing.
I don’t trouble my brain
to hold the amount.

My children’s birthdays
are written on a calendar
but their ages keep changing
as does the date for Thanksgiving
although it is always on Thursday

in November, usually a day or soWinnie:FB
after my mother’s birthday
which is a sad day because
it was the day my brother Joe
was killed fighting in France.
Some years later on the same day
Kennedy was shot.

There are 4 cups in a quart
16 in a gallon.
I put 1 heaping teaspoon
of instant coffee in my mug.

2 cups of flour, whether
white or wheat is enough
to make a loaf of bread.
A pinch of salt is enough
for almost anything.
